Serial stable production of integrated gear, e.g. a shaft, several types of gear in a component, is available by μ-MIM® technology. Our originally developed binder system has realised small complicated design moulding even when deploying fine powders. Thus, precise net-shape with smooth surface finishing as-sintered is assured.
Micro internal helical gear

In μ-MIM® small gear production, no machining tool is required but a mould, thus stable high-quality micro gear serial production is achieved. The smaller gear is more difficult to assure high quality. We have developed our original quality analysis system consisting of measurement X-ray CT, SEM and high-end optical measurement system. Importantly, the measured data will be analysed using our original analysis software to compare with the 3D drawing data to indicate the pitch error, tooth line etc.

Advantage: Metal part and rubber part has to be joined together, by making reverse taper micro pillars such as on the picture, the anchoring effect will strengthen bond strength physically.
Characteristic: Reverser taper shape, which is impossible to realise with other manufacturing technology
Helical gear and spur gear

Size : φ1.7mm (smallest part)
This integrated gear has functions of helical and spur gear. The smallest diameter of this gear is 1.7mm. μ-MIM® experienced serial production of the module of 0.025mm, while it is said the module of 0.3 mm or less gear is not feasible by CNC machining. Additionally, μ-MIM® uses mould for serial production, thus the locational or positional accuracy is uniformly controlled.
Material : SS410L
Soft magnetic materials are one of the difficult-to-cut materials, thus serial production by machining is difficult. µ-MIM® has experiences of small complicated designed soft magnetic material component serial production with good magnetic properties, satisfying tight tolerance requirements. Unlike the conventional powder metallurgy, the component density is achieved 98% of wrought metal, therefore the magnetic properties are also satisfactory.
